I would say that the psychological issue of there being a "warrior" class versus the rest in society is more on the side of the non veterans. Veterans know what it is to be a citizen, but citizens are plainly unaware of what it takes to serve. Some of the comments from non veterans are astoundingly stupid. The sad part being that they are opinions that they are taught by those who have never served and act as teachers and college professors. This article is essentially advocating a universal conscription. With the level of criminal activity among the "urban youth" (have to use the PC term to avoid being called a racist), do we really want to be arming and training all of them?
