What is the stock market? It's the vehicle through which the wealthy perpetuate their position in society. It's meaningless to the average person because, more and more in America, it does NOT indicate the ease with which the individual can advance and gain new, more lucrative employment. Today's stock market indicates only the volume of "trade" between the members of the economic-political elites, while Main Street (where the rest of us live) languishes and loses volume. The volume of trade on Wall Street does not show an expanding economy, rather it shows only the inflation of our money supply, where "profits" can't really keep pace...
