Remember, the Founders had no idea that a gun could shoot a thousand bullets a minute, and would "never" have allowed citizens to own such. Same thing applies to "Freedom of the Press" - high capacity magazine presses can print a thousand copies a minute, and they would never have allowed those to be unrestricted. When they insist that the NYT has to have a license to own or operate such high-speed presses, and may only do so under certain restrictions, then we'll see how dedicated they are to civil rights.
