Although he later warned about the dangers of the Fannie and Freddie problem, Bush was initially on the side of the Left in his support for closing the "housing ownership gap". Lib posters often hold up the Bush era as an example of nasty conservatism when in actuality he gave the Left most of what they wany, only at a slower pace. In agreement with article's author, I tell them repeatedly that Bush was not a true conservative.
