I would love it if local, small farmers were providing all of our food by the sweat of their brow. No one is denying how hard they work, or how beneficial they are to our economy and our dinner table. But this article paints a picture of antebellum America, where our agrarian society's backbone was individual homestead farmers working the land. It seems to suggest that we would all be farmers if the EPA didn't over-regulate or if the blue-state liberals weren't so lazy. Who do you think pushes for all of those regulations? The massive factory farm conglomerates that can afford to pay for compliance, that's who. Small farmers have either been simply bought out or undercut and bankrupted by huge corporate farming operations. Wake up.
