Social experiments, such as allowing women in combat role positions rarely, if ever, work. The oxymoron here is "level playing field". If standards have to be adjusted, there is no level playing field. This may anger some, but we did the same thing with "equal opportunity legislation". We lowered the standards for some minorities in colleges and employment circles. One of two things happened (and sometimes both things happened). The education system as a whole suffered and was "dumbed down", and/or those admitted under lower standards failed miserably. Some may have made it, but some women will make it in the military as well. Mr. Williams is correct, the purpose of an army is to protect and defend against, and defeat our enemies.
