What irritates me is that farmers are somehow painted as some special breed, above the rest of us. It's like if you're not a farmer or a teacher, you're either evil or invisible.
Know who else works hard, that we couldn't live without? Truck drivers. Plumbers. Coal miners, butchers, auto mechanics, electricians, road-pavers, oil-workers, and thousands of other jobs. It's plain and simply elitist to single out farmers as some romanticized ideal.
