The Marine's question should be: "Did I commit murder?" The prohibition in the 10commandments is against MURDER not killing per se'. The Bible is full of wars and of killing - the books that cover punishments have capital punishments for specific crimes so they did expect to have what can be called "justified" killing. The short answer to his question, therefore, since he killed during combat, killing enemy combatants (presumed or known)...no, he is not guilty of murder and killing in the circumstance is not a criminal in nature (criminal being used as right or wrong synonym).
