A quick look at my own personal view of inflation Historic Gasoline Cost Year 1960 2013 Minimum Wage $/hr 0.90 7.50 Gasoline Price $/gal 0.32 3.75 Gasoline Cost gal/hr 2.8 2.0 This shows that when I actually made 0.90 $/hr on minimum wage we were better off than the youth and lower paid people of today. Only thing lost was about 90% of the money's value and any savings value as well.
