Regarding the proposals to outlaw "military style" weapons, I am not aware of anyone being killed by a flash suppressor (or, for that matter, a gun EQUIPPED with a flash suppressor--what would be the point?).
Haven't heard of anyone being killed by a barrel shroud. I'm sure some people get serious burns on their hands from accidentally grabbing a hot barrel that DOESN'T have a barrel shroud.
I don't think any of the weapons used recently had barrel shrouds. Even if they did, did the barrel shroud make the bullets any more lethal?
And then there's bayonet mounts or threaded barrels. Have any mass murders been committed by bayonet, lately? Do threaded barrels make guns more lethal?
