Yours is such a great point. Everybody suffers under inflation, especially (some have argued) the poor. I am suspicious about Bernanke's end game. How does he plan to extricate us from the enormous debt and interest rate risk the Fed has taken on? I don't see how he avoids inflation. It seems to me that he can't see the forest for the trees.
The recent Krugman "questioning" by Hans Hermann-Hoppe makes the point very well: "How does printing pieces of paper with numbers on them make us better off?" Somebody has to make the food, clothing, housing, means of transportation... We've become infantile in our understanding of economics.
