Georgetown University Constitutional Law Professor Louis Michael Seidman wrote In an op-ed published in the New York Times that the nation’s foundational document is the real impediment to progress and solutions to America’s troubles, and says that the time has come to scrap the Constitution.
So much for his Constitutional Law credentials. He seems to ignore the fact that the Constitution is the basis and charter for the existence of the Federal Government. It defines the three co-equal branches of the government and the powers and limits of the powers of these branches. No Constitution would mean that there would be no definition of the Government or its powers or limitations. That is a prescription for chaos, not progress.
