It's funny how sexual misconduct among politicians always draws the rapid ire of the media. That is, for Republicans, (i.e. Herman Cain, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Mark Sanford). For them, their political doom ensued quickly as the media's relentless coverage over these outrages left them no alternatives. But when the accused is a Democrat, the media's blind eye and dragging feet can result in anything from a slower political death, (Gary Hart, John Edwards), to practically no harm done at all, (Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank). If Menendez were a Republican, he would have been forced to resign by now. As it is (being a Democrat), he may not have to resign at all.
