So, those parents exercised their "choice" to move to a better private school! Shouldn't all parents have that "choice?" I agree that parents need to be involved, but there is so much more. After teaching in the public school for 25 years I've seen it all and I've had it. Next year will be my last year in the system and then I'm opening a private tutoring center. I can work with students whose parents DO care! Good teachers are fleeing in droves. Education is a complete mess in this country and I place 80% of the blame on our unions and only 20% on parents who don't care.
