That shotgun case you talk about didn't have anything to do with the 2nd Amendment. And, it totally ignored the fact that the Army had the 1897 Winchester 12 ga. in its inventory at the time and that it was widely used during WWI. In addition, the Framers made no distinction about specific weapons when they debated and wrote the 2nd Amendment. You only have to read contemporaneous sources to know that, and there are tons of that stuff if you just do a little research.
