"The argument for granting legal status is that we as a nation have been complicit in tolerating a situation in which it's easy and profitable to violate the law." No, the politicians have been, despite the majority of American's objections. "The price of changing that is granting legal status to otherwise unobjectionable illegals, since we can't deport 11 million people." Straw man argument. The gov't enforces MANY laws, even if it can't catch all of the offenders. We can, and should, enforce immigration laws, including deportation. Keep digging the GOP's grave, buddy. The GOP can have illegals votes, but they'll never get mine again!!!
