Actually muskets were outdated by the time of our revolution. Cartridge firearms and revolvers were invented in the 1600's. They were not yet in common use due to the expense involved in manufacturing. The Kentucky long rifle however, was in widespread use by Americans, and was used for sniper duties, a technique not previously encountered by the Brits. Go read up on history before you make outrageous statements.
