When I was in grade school in the 1950's, we had history lessons about South America in it was noted that before WW!!, Argentina was considered to the "United States of South America." They had free elections and their economy was growing rapidly. However, after WWII, problems and discord developed, mostly because of the powerful trade union, eventually Juan Peron came to power. Since then, under various dictatorial regimes, political opponents have "disappeared" and Argentina's economy has shrunk almost to third world status. Argentinians aren't much different from us, so beware.
