My parents didn't want me. I am 69 years old, and can now clearly identify I would have been better off had someone taken me out of that home. My mother's position, "I am your mother and I can do anything I want to you--watch." My father's position, "Have kids of your own and beat them." My mother often said, "If I punish you enough, when you have kids you will abuse them and they will hate you as much as you hate me." My point is politics can remove children from homes and security, but the welfare of the child never becomes the controlling factor. Sometimes I cry when I see families fight over children they want when I can still hear my mother saying, "I should have killed you when you were a baby. Nobody would have ever known."
