I remember going there as a child with my mother in the mid to late 70's, early 80's and it was nothing like it is today. Today the neighborhood is a drug-infested, crime-ridden war zone. Back then, there was an occupied house on every lot. There were no abandoned, boarded up houses, nor cars in the streets and children roamed the neighborhoods. This article rings so true.
