So, I obviously don't know Toure, and neither does anyone else who is commenting on this thread, but it seems to me that he is wholly entitled to his opinion regarding the benefits of an entirely LEGAL practice. Let's be clear, he didn't advocate for murder or infanticide the way those terms are defined by law and our society, so his position that there are benefits to taking advantage of a legal activity is pretty much in-line with most Americans--we wouldn't have legal abortion in this country if we as a society hadn't already decided that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. And Katie's characterization that he did it because he wanted to maintain his irresponsible life is her gloss, but definitely not the position advocated by Toure.
