The article above notes Germans' accelerating purchase of wood-burning stoves, and of "disappearing forests" and "tree thefts" in that country - things attributed primarily to those unable to afford the "save the world, renewable" energy that that country has spent untold euros to produce. Yet ANOTHER great example of the "hidden hand" of the free market. Competition leads to improvement, lower costs, and superior products. Period. The (liberal) government can mandate until the cows come home - mandate about light bulbs, and low water use toilets, and mileage requirements unattainable in vehicles that people actually want to own and drive - and humans - those willful, idiosyncratic, individualists that they are, by nature - will...
