A recent tactic of leftists in their campaign to discredit conservatism has been to describe the concept of success through hard work and innovation as “Social Darwinism”. As usual, they are allowed to set up a defenseless straw dummy and proceed to tear it apart. It is, admittedly, a clever tactic and effective since they own both sides of the conversation. In considering a refutation to the argument, on might consider: “OK - Social Darwinism is ‘bad’ - what is it you are offering as its converse?
