Truman Head Start gave birth to Operation Follow Through (1968-1977 with funding till 1995) the largest educational research project ever undertaken. The failure of the education establishment to learn from Follow Through is exposed in a paper by Douglas Carnine titled: Why Education Experts Resist Effective Practices. Google it. Read it and weep. No one hears you. That’s the main reason that Head Start is a dismal failure.
