Joe is partially right probably by mistake. In many situations, I would rather have a shotgun, preferably a pump shotgun, than an assault rifle. I close quarters, the pump has a lot of advantages. In other situations, I would rather have a rifle, preferably an M1A in 7.62x51 NATO, with at least five 20 round mags as backup.
There are times when one could need heavy firepower to preserve life. The ability to meet force with force is the greatest liberty one can have.
With rights come responsibilities. One has the right to own arms and the responsibility to prevent their use to harm innocents.
