As a teacher of high school math in CA (tutoring currently because I can't manage a classroom of adolescents that I refuse to call "students", which would imply that they actually study instead of faking their way through for the grade), I am very wary of whatever comes our way from Washington--doubly so if it involves education, since the saying of "controlling the children" is so true, We should have the highest possible standards, teach them, and expect our students to learn them; however, I don't even know if that's possible anymore, since I sincerely believe that, ages being equal, we were more mature years ago, and could handle academic rigor. Nowadays, we're too much into distractions. CC won't help.
