...It means that students won't be required to have mastered the concept until grade 6". It looks like teachers have also mastered the concept of "kicking the can down the road". The younger the student the easier it is to introduce new concepts and have them become natural. Why is it so difficult for teachers to just teach basics? It worked successfully for many years and produced intelligent, educated Americans, while post 1960 methods have produce ill-educated dolts. At what point did the D of E decide that the more esoteric and vague a curriculum becomes, it better it is? Or is it just smoke and mirrors so parents won't realize how useless most teachers have become?
