"If only one life is saved..." I'm a 66 year old guy who has been riding motorcycles since 1968. I always wear full gear and a full coverage helmet when I ride (think NASCAR or Indy car driver but with better body armor. An easy way to save 20,000 lives per year would be to require all car drivers and passengers gear up like I do when I ride. An easy way to save 40,000 lives per year would be to make the national speed limit 15 and the speeding penalty life in prison. The "only one life saved" argument is so trite I would have thought it was even beneath Obama... but I guess its not possible to bound "how low will he go" :-)
