In all the hand-wringing and dire warnings about global warming (climate change), I have yet to see a serious discussion of why the Earth was much warmer at other times than at present during its history. Or why, without men roaming the Earth, the planet cooled to the point where ice fields a mile or more thick covered much of North America. Was it the result of a giant meteor? Maybe? Was it the result of volcanic activity? Maybe? Does anyone know with absolute certainty? No. Meteorologists have difficulty accurately predicting storms 2-3 days in advance. 20-50 years into the future? Not a chance.
