I work with kids that can't do percents at all. An item will be on sale for 20% off, and they cannot figure out how much of a discount it is. It is really sad. Without the register telling them how much change to give, they can't do that either. Public education needs to be held accountable. We have a generation of kids who can't balance a check book, can't write complete sentences, but got trophies for coming in last! Really unbelieable and very sad to watch.
