If gay Americans are given civil equality, there is no reason for #4 and #5 to occur. Those would fall under the category of delusional paranoia.

Since sexual orientation is not a choice, the fear of being able to choose to be gay if it were accepted by society is a ludicrous conjecture. Straight people don't suddenly become gay just because same-sex couples are able to marry. Otherwise, over half the populous of Washington, Maryland and Maine would have chosen "homosexuality" after approving marriage equality is their states. The entire rationale is so inane, it calls into question the author's mental faculties.
