Look at what was proposed to what has been actually advanced. There isn't threat of a "gun grab." If there was, I would oppose it. I do think that outlawing certain weapons that have been used most often in spree killings does not violate rights. There are enough other weapons that will remain legal, not to mention grandfathering in existing weapons, to ensure the right to bare arms will remain intact. The same goes for limiting magazine capacity and universal background checks. These are reasonable reforms that won't stop massacres, but will reduce their likelihood over time.
