Growing up in the 1950's I was aware that the "Negroes" as they were called then, seemed to be in a lower income bracket than our family . Not that we had much money at all. Yet you would see them on Sundays as families, with mothers and fathers, bringing their children to church. The intact family unit had not been destroyed by LBJ's "Great Society". Now nearly 50 years after that program began the black family unit has been decimated and poverty among them is worse than ever. Their work ethic has been destroyed with children being raised by generations of young girls who believe government is the father to their children. It's working as intended.
