“Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive”. Sir Walter Scott’s quotation seems particularly applicable to our current legal system. It is so overly complex the average citizen cannot deal with it without the aid of one or more attorneys. Perhaps that’s the real reason, job security for lawyers. States desiring to return to the original Constitution with its amendments should consider splitting off and forming their own nation. Then they can make a serious effort to construct a system of laws consistent within itself while flushing out 150 years of Progressive corruption.
