Actually, the wars add only slightly to the DOD budget. Even if the wars are not ongoing, you still pay the soldiers, maintain equipment, and pay for food fuel and ammo for training exercises. The only real increase is in the cash that the politicians hand out to our enemies as Obama is doing in Egypt, and replacing destroyed equipment, which in the current overseas ops generally occurs when we have people out aiding the local populations, who don't want us there anyway, like in Central and North Africa.
