Violent crime on all measures is an order of magnitude lower in the UK, and other Western countries compared to the USA. For example, the US homicide rate is 4.8 (per 100,000) compared to the UK which 1.2 (per 100.000). The US rate is 400% higher. So, why is violent crime so much higher in the US?
