Actually, it's less than 5%. Using the FBI statistics for 2006-2010, only in one of those years did the number of homicides with rifles exceed 3% -- and that was just barely. But it's possible we're using different sets of reported numbers. However, you're right on point. We want to ban a sub-set of a class of firearms used in less than 5% of all murders based entirely upon their appearance.
