The problem with the moral relativism in which society is steeped is that few bother to ask, "Relative to what?" It's like expecting people to understand the concept of grey without any knowledge of what black and white are. Absent points of reference, the usual cop-out is to just do what feels good, or what's convenient, or what's easy--in short, whatever one WANTS to do. The time-honored search for truth has given way to the search for what will be believed. How often do we hear "your truth", "my truth", "his truth", "her truth"? The last thing anyone wants to hear is THE truth.
