Look around you and you'll see plenty of evidence that the government is guided by the principle that "if it saves one life, it is worth it!" Why, just yesterday I had to have all of the five gallon buckets in my house inspected to make sure they would tip over a small child fell upon one. It took me forever to get to the inspection station, too, since I had to obey the federally mandated, nationwide 25 mph speed limit. On the way home, I stopped off at the local Federal Food Preparation Center to use kitchen knives to cut up meat for our stew. (There was a tense moment when a woman nicked her finger, forcing an evacuation while Federal Kitchen Supervisors inspected the facility for code violations.)
But at least we're all safer!
