Reading "RANSOM'S RANTS" every morning is fun Years ago I taught Nuclear Power in Admiral Rickover's Navy. We started with students that had an IQ of at least 120 just to enter the program. Most has at least some college. The program was in two parts, academic and an empirical qualification program at an actual reactor. If they passed both phases, the student was then allowed to go to the fleet and qualify on an operating ship or submarine reactor. The amazing part was that our first job in the empirical training was to teach the student to "think for them selves". Academia does NOT teach our kids to think. Sadly witnessed by many of the comments posted. Ransom's common sense sarcasm is refreshing.
