When I meditate on God's reward, I realize that grief is actually a form of selfishness: We want our loved ones to be here now with us; we don't want to wait for a future re-union. In fact, when a faithful person dies, that one has lived a victorious life. And it should be celebrated. When a child dies, it is a test of an adult's faith in whether or not he believes in God's reward. Read the book of Job. A child's death doesn't test the child but the adult's faith.
