How's this for a rational, God-believing perspective: "Those children who had humbled themselves before God in life will be with him in eternity; the rest will be punished for eternity. The same choice awaits YOU, so repent of your sins today." Religion is not a false hope, but is supposed to be a true message of salvation. It is no consolation to offer false hope in a false god who pardons children whose "innocence" is defined by nothing more than adult sensitivities of youth and cuteness. God is not Santa Claus; he does not judge by appearances, but holds us all accountable for our sins, regardless of age. He sent his Son to die for your sins; the only ones who go to heaven are those who repent and believe.
