In the 1990s, desperately seeking to improve its image with black voters and soccer moms, the GOP attached itself to Colin Powell. It didn't take much to see that this supporter of abortion, affirmative action and open borders was no conservative (hello Miss C. Rice), but the GOP was not to be rebuffed. Now the inevitable has occurred and the pandering has come back to bite the GOP. I'm not sure which party is less principled: Powell or the GOP. What puzzles me most is why Colin Powell even receives a hearing within the GOP?
