Several weeks ago the Akron Beacon Journal printed an article, charts included, which showed that the was a 1 degree increase in temperature over the past approx. 150 years. The article stood alone with no other articles on global warming on that day. Recently the ABJ published a huge OpEd piece reporting that, due to global warming, the worlds temperature had risen one degree over the previous twelve months.
Anyone note the incongruity of these two articles? One cites recorded data over one and a half centuries. The other over twelve months--one year! Any student of the "science" of statistics is taught that no statistical model is of any validity until a minimum sample of three or more years is available for comparison purposes.
