I tried to keep my kids from becoming little Seinfelds by banning what I considered harmful TV and film influences. It did help -- a LOT -- but it was not possible for me to keep them completely isolated from the low-character influences that fill the culture. Yes, once I found out that certain kids' parents occasionally smoked weed, I put my foot down about them visiting those households, but that was half of their friends, and there was no way I could keep them from mixing at school. If you can't afford your own, isolated compound in Montana, your kids will face modern influences whether you like them or not.
