Union Jobs were not just lost because of wage disputes, in fact most Unions have not been pushing for raises over the last 4 years. Job losses have crossed the union /nonUnion lines and affected everyone, union or not. The exception is the possiblity of getting new jobs... NonUnion employers are hesitant to hire Union Members because they know that as soon as the union calls, the worker will disappear... Since Unions control the pensions of their men, the men can't quit the Union without risking their pension... "A Rock and a Hard Place"... You should also ask yourself "Who do I want building my roads, bridges and public buildings?" A formally trained and educated Union Guy, or a Rent-a-Juan from Home Depot? SOME Unions are necessary...
