They may be "blithering idiots" but they are dangerous. And, they would like us all to forget that the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting, or target shooting. It is there to assert that free men have the right to arms to defend themselves, period. It matters not if the enemy is a crook, or a tyrant. Naturally, such a right requires reasonable regulation, like the requirement for background checks. But reasonable regulations require reasonable people to write them. The pack of shameless demagogues we see today, seem far from reasonable. Thus our position that existing regulations, written largely by reasonable people in the past, are sufficient for today.
