Ms. Cushman, I always like your articles. When I attended Fordham University, I worked. From the end of November until March, I drove a cab 72 hours a week. From March through November, I worked on my ice cream truck. It was my first business and my route was located in a projects in the Bronx. This also consumed 70+ hours per week. I once told a professor that I couldn't complete an assignment because of my onerous work schedule -- fully expecting his understanding and a smaller workload. He told me I had to make a decision, work or school. I continued with both and he gave me not one inch of slack. It was tough, but I learned a lesson, no one is entitled. He gave me a C+, I wish I could remember his name.
