..as the decades have gone by. Starting in the early 1980s I began to notice a trend of 'middle-men" and "middle-managers" with "assistants to assistants to assistants to.." ad infinitum. No body wanted to do the actual work anymore. Way too many people wanted to be the "Chiefs" while fewer and fewer wanted to be the "Indians". get in a position of relative power, and skim a large cut of the profits while doing as little to be productive as possible. Attend meetings, committees, functions in three-piece-suits to look like you're worth the six-figures they're paying you, while all along having less ability than Dilbert's Boss. And some of these people had the nerve to look down their noses at those of us doing the work!
