The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting. It has to do with the right of American citizens to be able to arm themselves with firearms to defend and protect themselves as well as have the ability to overthrow the government if it ever strays too far from the US Constitution, becomes a tyranny, an enemy of individual rights and freedom. And that means the right to own firearms that will match those that the government has access to.
